For this study read through the short book of Haggai.
What time references do you see? When did Haggai do his work?
Haggai addresses 3 issues with the Jews who returned from captivity. What are the issues and what admonition does the prophet offer?
Issue #1 beginning in 1:2 – _____________________________________

a. What does God tell them to console them concerning this matter?
b. How might we face the same discouragement as those who returned from captivity and how can we be encouraged by the prophecy of Haggai?
Issue #3 beginning in 2:10 – ____________________________________
The final prophecy of the book begins in 2:20 – “Again the word of the LORD came to Haggai on the twenty-fourth day of the month, saying…..”. What is the message of this final prophecy? What is God going to do? How was this fulfilled? (For help with this consult Hebrews 12:18-29).
