HOME AGAIN HEROES #15 – Zechariah’s Messianic Prophecies

In this lesson we will wrap up our study of Zechariah by looking at chapters 9-14.

In the final chapters of the book Zechariah speaks about the future of Israel. These chapters reference many obscure cities and contain highly figurative language which can be challenging to interpret.

Like many of the Old Testament prophets these chapters point to God’s future kingdom, the church, and there are many Messianic reference. The fact that New Testament writers quote them and make application to Jesus helps us understand them.

Review these and make note of any clues to interpretation or anything else you find interesting or have questions about.

We have already looked at these:

Many _________________ shall be joined to the Lord in that day, and shall be my ____________.

Zechariah 2:11

Behold I will bring my servant the _____________________.

Zechariah 3:8

“He shall sit and rule on His _____________ and there shall be a ________________ on His throne.

Zechariah 6:13

Additional Messianic references:

Behold your ___________ is coming, righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a ________________.

Zechariah 9:9

“They weighed out as my wages ____________ pieces of ____________”.

Zechariah 11:12

“they will look on Me whom they have _______________”

Zechariah 12:10

13 (entire chapter)

“Strike the ____________ and the _____________ will be ________________.”

Zechariah 13:7

“On that day ___________ _____________ shall flow out from ______________.”

Zechariah 14:8

We will review this material together Wednesday April 19 at 7 pm in person (1796 Old Middleburg Road North) and on Facebook Live (see link elsewere on this page). We hope you will join us then!
